Printmaking
lends itself to variations on a theme and
to experimentation within the framework
of a given idea. I usually work in series,
using an abstract language of colors, textures
and forms. I am searching for how symbols
emerge and communicate.
Printmaking lets me express my love for
paper, especially Asian paper, which can
be strong, sensitive, and often somewhat
transparent, integrating and holding the
color. I chine colle on to strong, dense
Western papers and, therefore, have the
bet of both worlds.
